This is my first official Blog, and I’m excited that it is about my recent trip to Las Vegas, where I attended ACAM, the American College for Advancement in Medicine’s yearly conference. ACAM is a bit like the AMA (American Medical Association), but focuses on Alternative Medicine. The conference was five days, and they were long ones! No time fo0r gambling, it was lectures from as early as 6:30 AM to as late as 8:30 PM. Topics varied from Hormone Replacement for Men with Internationally recognized speaker, Jonathon Wright MD, to Chelation Therapy with ACAM experts, to how the human genome affects how our bodies work (lectures by the folks wrote the book(s), literally). Essentially this was a huge group of over-achieving doctors, interested in alternative methods of healing, who gather together to discuss what works. The trade show alone was huge: impossible to visit every vendor in three days. I only left the hotel once, and it was crazy out there; but the Paris Hotel is built complete with cobblestone streets, French Cafes, shoppes, chartouterie, bakeries (and the chef’s are good, and they’re French!). Overhead is a painted azure sky, clouds, trees, the tour d’eiffel!” So you can pretend you’re outside, in Paris, with a lot of one-armed bandits!
One of the reasons I went to this conference was the Chelation Therapy Workshop. I am eligible to sit for ACAM’s Chelation Certification. Setting up for chelation (a treatment for heavy metal body burden and inflammation) is a big process. We are shooting for beginning this service in mid-spring, with a pilot group starting fairly soon.
I hope everyone is having a healthy fall, and looking forward to warm holidays. Don’t forget to brine your turkey in raw salted water for best results!
